Successful development of a new deposition system for large-area mirrors.

VTD develops deposition systems for various applications including optical coatings. The coating of large-area mirrors for astronomic telescopes is a field in which the company has already been able to successfully implement a number of projects in the past. A deposition system which is suitable for coating these and other three-dimensional large-area lenses with a diameter of up to 2.4 m has just passed the works acceptance test conducted by the customer on our premises. The deposited multilayer system meets high demands in terms of complexity, materials and tolerance. The acceptance test on the customer's premises is scheduled for August.
